The Government of the Principality of Monaco (Department of International Cooperation) and its partner, the François-Xavier Bagnoud Association (FXB) in Burundi, are pleased to announce the first 10 winners of the INIBU call for projects - Support for Local Initiatives in Burundi.
The 10 Burundian civil society organisations (CSOs) selected as winners are from the three municipalities targeted by the first edition of this call for projects, namely Rumonge, Matana and Bururi, in the province of Burunga, in the south of the country. It should be noted that, in addition to support for their projects, they will receive assistance and training to strengthen their capacities.
The local initiatives selected (see list below) fall within the areas of empowerment and strengthening of girls/women (ABDR association); local agriculture and livestock farming (ULP, SHIGIKIRANA, TUDUZANYE); education and vocational training (AJVPE); entrepreneurship and employability (AGIR POUR L'ENVIRONNEMENT, AODD, AVR); inclusion of vulnerable and/or marginalised groups (ABEJF); and climate adaptation and environmental protection (AEDD). They receive a grant of between €9,400 and €10,000 for a 12-month implementation period.
As a reminder, INIBU aims to support projects with a strong local impact initiated by Burundian CSOs, while supporting and strengthening the winning local organisations.
