Partnership with schools / Cinema for Change
Every year, in partnership with the "Cinema for Change" short film festival, the Office of International Cooperation raises the awareness of several hundred young people about the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, in Monaco and in partner countries.
The "Cinema for Change" short film festival (www.cinemaforchange.org ) presents short films from around the world, all relating to the 17 SDGs.
Each year, several prizes are awarded, including the Biodiversity Prize, the Gender Equality Prize, the Students’ Prize and the Children’s Prize. The last two of these receive particular support from the Office of International Cooperation as part of development awareness activities aimed at children and young people.
In 2021, more than 4000 pupils aged between 8 and 18 took part in these Prizes as jury members :
- 600 children in Monaco, in partnership with the Department of Education, Youth and Sport
- 3500 children in Burkina Faso, Madagascar, Mali and Tunisia
