School feeding
The nutritional status of children is essential for their proper development. School feeding is one of the solutions that meets the nutritional needs of children, especially the most vulnerable.
School canteen programs improve access to education, learning, health and nutrition and thus have a more productive human capital in adulthood. Of the 388 million children who receive a school meal worldwide, only 53 million children (13%) are in sub-Saharan Africa.
The DCI will support school feeding programs, which also contribute to the strength of local food systems: support for small producers, cooperatives and women's groups, local purchases, food diversification.
