Adoption of new three-year strategic plan (2022-2024)
The Monegasque Cooperation is committed to localizing aid, with the objective of allocating 40% of its subsidies to local actors.
The 4 strategic priorities are health, food security, education & child protection, and access to decent work, accompanied by the following 4 flagship programs: community health, school feeding, education of vulnerable girls and entrepreneurship of women and young people.
2020
Covid-19 pandemic
To support its partners, Covid emergency aid from the Monegasque Cooperation amounts to €2.9 million in 2020 alone.
2018
Three-year strategic plan (2018-2020)
The Prince’s Government’s efforts were refocused on 11 countries.
In addition to health, education and socio-economic inclusion, particular importance is attached to food security.
2015
Adoption of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
The Principality of Monaco is adopting the United Nations sustainable development programme which encompasses all of the challenges to eradicate poverty, protect the planet and guarantee prosperity for all by 2030.
2007
Creation of the Department of International Cooperation (DIC)
The Department of International Cooperation was created within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Cooperation to implement the Monaco Government’s policy on development aid.
2005
Accession of H.S.H. Sovereign Prince Albert II
H.S.H. Prince Albert II affirms his determination to make Monaco a country which stands in solidarity in the face of major global challenges, including combatting poverty, preserving the environment and tackling climate change.
2003
Creation of a first International Cooperation Office
Action by the Prince’s Government covers the fields of health, education and micro economy to help African countries.
2000
Adoption of the Millennium Development Goals
Signature of the Millennium Declaration with the aim of reducing global poverty by half by 2015 through eight goals, the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
1993
Accession of the Principality of Monaco to the United Nations
Monaco becomes the 183rd member state of the United Nations. The Prince’s Government develops its first international development activities in the Mediterranean Basin, focusing on environmental issues.
