Partnership with schools / Cinema for Change
Every year, in partnership with the "Cinema for Change" short film festival, the Department of International Cooperation raises the awareness of thousands of young people about the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, in Monaco and in partner countries.
The "Cinema for Change" short film festival presents short films from around the world, all relating to the 17 SDGs.
Each year, several prizes are awarded, three Youth Prizes (namely the Children's Prize, the secondary school pupils' Prize and the Students' Prize). The latter receive particular support from the Department of International Cooperation as part of development awareness activities aimed at children and young people.
In 2025, almost 40.000 pupils and students took part in these Prizes as jury members, whereas :
- More than 500 children in Monaco, in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, and in Menton, in partnership with the Sciences Po Campus;
- More than 5,000 children and young students in South Africa, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania; Morocco and Tunisia.
