On 20th June, a meeting was held at the Princess Grace Hospital Centre (CHPG) between representatives of the Tengandogo University Hospital Centre (UHC) in Burkina Faso and its Monegasque partners.

The CHPG, the Tengandogo UHC, Monaco's Office of International Cooperation, the Monegasque association Migotigo and the Italian association Safe Heart have been working together since 2013 in the field of cardiology. In particular, Migotigo and Safe Heart enabled the equipping in 2018 of a cardiac surgery operating theatre at the University Hospital Centre located in the suburbs of Ouagadougou. In January 2021, the first open-heart surgery mission was carried out there thanks to a collaboration with the Chaîne de l'Espoir and Safe Heart.
The partnership which unites all these structures is also illustrated in the field of training : since 2016, six cardiologists from the University Hospital Centre have had the opportunity to undertake a training course at the CHPG thanks to funding from the Monegasque Cooperation.
The last aspect of this fruitful partnership is the donation of medical equipment. The CHPG has just sent an ultrasound machine and a stress test machine to the Tengandogo University Hospital Centre.
Finally, in the same way as the heart surgery operations for children financed in Mali and Madagascar in partnership with the Monaco Collectif Humanitaire (MCH) and the Chaîne de l'Espoir, an equivalent partnership has just been initiated with the Tengandogo University Hospital Centre, thus enabling small Burkinabe patients from vulnerable families to be operated on in their country at a humanitarian rate.
