On Thursday 2nd February 2023, Investisseurs et Partenaires (I&P) and the I&P Education and Employment programme (IP2E) brought together players involved in finance and education in Abidjan for the release of a capitalisation study concerning entrepreneurs in the education sector in Africa, supported by the Monegasque Cooperation.

Etude de Capitalisation I&P - Abidjan

The capitalisation study presented turns the spotlight on proactive edupreneurs who are endeavouring to strengthen the education system and ensure it is accessible to as many people as possible. These topics fall within the scope of the Monegasque Cooperation’s strategy, which has made female and youth entrepreneurship, as well as the education of vulnerable girls, flagship programmes for its action.

Since it was launched in 2021, the IP2E programme has supported thirty or so businesses based in 13 African countries that are active in a range of education areas, such as vocational training and specialised higher education. The programme has impacted over 24,000 direct and indirect beneficiaries, including 55% of young women, and has generated 2,425 jobs.

For the reader’s information, in January 2019 after several years of successful collaboration to promote impact investing in Africa, the Office of International Cooperation of Monaco signed a contract of engagement with I&P to promote the I&P Education & Employment programme (IP2E). The ultimate goal for the future is to support I&P in its ambition to make education a fully-fledged impact investing sector, which is attractive to both investors and entrepreneurs, and generates key entrepreneurial success stories.
