On Thursday 14th December, a three-year funding plan between the Government of Monaco and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) was signed in Geneva by Isabelle Rosabrunetto, Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, and Olivier Ray, the ICRC’s Director for Mobilisation, Movement, and Partnerships.

This three-year plan will enter into force on 1st January 2024. The two parties have decided that the majority of funding will be left in the hands of the ICRC so that it can used according to emergency-led needs.
The rest of the funds will be used for operations carried out during protracted conflict and for a physical rehabilitation programme conducted in Mali, one of the Monegasque Cooperation’s partner countries.
In these particularly troubled times, this re-engagement demonstrates the Principality’s strong attachment to respecting international humanitarian law.
