Moramanga (Madagascar), 5th March 2020. The Government of the Principality of Monaco and the Fondation Alliance Française have announced the renewal of their partnership agreement to implement the Alliance 3.0 project.
From 2017 to 2019, the project facilitated access to culture and education for close to 360,000 users of 38 Alliances Françaises in South Africa, Madagascar, Mauritania and Senegal. The second phase of the Alliance 3.0 project has the same objectives, extending its action to 6 Alliances Françaises in 3 other countries also partners of the Monegasque Cooperation, namely Tunisia, Burundi and Morocco. It will concern at least 480,000 users comprising the public of these 44 Alliances Françaises.
Actions from 2020 to 2022 will be focused on strengthening the capacities of the Alliance Française teams in cultural and educational mediation with the help of digital tools. The aim is to enable learners and users of the Alliances to be more successful in their vocational and social integration. As with the previous phase, the project will increase French language learning as well as skills in digital tools thanks to portable digital libraries made available within the Alliances Françaises.
The Government of the Principality of Monaco is helping to implement this project with a contribution of 200,000 Euros over a 3-year period and the provision of a technical resource through its international volunteer programme.
“The Government of Monaco is fully satisfied with the results achieved so far and is delighted to continue this cooperation” said Niry Rabemanolontsoa, honorary vice-consul of Monaco in Madagascar. “We are also fully satisfied with cooperation between the Fondation Alliance Française and local Alliances Françaises who have demonstrated a strong commitment and genuine collaboration.”
“The expansion of Alliance 3.0 project activities to 3 further countries is not only proof of the trust placed in the Fondation Alliance Française by the Government of Monaco, but also the dynamism of our institution”, said Marc Cerdan, Secretary General of the Fondation Alliance Française. “We are determined to run this ambitious project with the Alliances Françaises located in a challenging environment such as Madagascar.”
