Led by Ms Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, the 24th information and discussion meeting between the Prince’s Government and Monegasque international solidarity organisations (OSI) was held on Friday 7 June at the Rainier III Auditorium.
The event, organised by the Department of International Cooperation (DCI) and last held in 2022, brought together some 30 NGOs, foundations, service clubs and groups of associations in Monaco which are working in the field of international solidarity.
In her opening address, Ms Berro-Amadeï thanked the organisations for their unwavering commitment to reducing inequality in all its forms. She also welcomed the partnership between the Prince’s Government and Monegasque international solidarity organisations, which helps unite efforts to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals for the benefit of the most vulnerable groups in society. The country coordinators, a key component of this partnership as representatives of the Ministry in the field, also attended the meeting to report on joint projects for which they provide support in the field.
Ms Isabelle Rosabrunetto, Director-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation and the Ministry of the Interior, represented by Mr Beauseigneur, Technical Advisor, recalled the rules and obligations that Monegasque international solidarity organisations are expected to follow to prevent money laundering and terrorist financing.
The Department of International Cooperation also reviewed major events in the last two years, including 15th anniversary celebrations for the Monaco Humanitarian Collective programme, and introduced calls for projects aimed at Monegasque international solidarity organisations, as well as the capacity-building programme.
The organisations also took the floor to present their activities and the international solidarity platform, an interface for sharing information and best practices that is used by more than 50 organisations. New organisations also reported on their work.
