J-MED: Monaco and France mark fifth year of working together to support young people in Mediterranean

On Friday 14 March, Ms Isabelle Rosabrunetto, Director-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, and H.E. Mr Jean D’Haussonville, the French Ambassador to Monaco, renewed the two countries’ commitment to young people in the Mediterranean. Fifteen civil society organisations from the region were successful at the fifth J-MED call for projects, launched last November to mark the Day of the Mediterranean.

Day of the Mediterranean: Launch of the 5th edition of J-Med

On this Day of the Mediterranean, the Government of Monaco, the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, the Fondation de France, the Région Sud and the Institut Européen de Coopération au Développement (IECD) are pleased to announce the launch of the 5th edition of J-Med, operated by the IECD and the MedNC network.

Renewal of an agreement for voluntary contributions between Monaco and the Council of Europe

On 30 May 2024, H.E. Mr Gabriel Revel, the Principality of Monaco’s Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe, and Mr Bjørn Berge, Deputy Secretary-General of the Council of Europe, renewed an agreement for voluntary contributions between Monaco and the Council.

J-Med: the winners of the 2024 edition chosen

The J-MED call for projects run by the European Institute for Cooperation and Development and the team from the Méditerranée Nouvelle Chance network, is delighted to announce that 16 proposals have been selected for funding representing a total of 240,000 Euros. Projects from 5 countries (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Mauritania and Lebanon) put forward by 35 civil society organisations (CSO) from the two sides of the Mediterranean will be launched on 1st March 2024.

Fourth session of the Bilateral Cooperation Commission between the Principality of Monaco and the Republic of Tunisia

As part of the strengthening of relations between the Principality of Monaco and the Republic of Tunisia, the fourth Bilateral Cooperation Commission was held in Monaco on 22 February 2024.

J-MED: Monaco and France join forces to support young people in the Mediterranean region

On Tuesday 10 October, Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, and H.E. Jean d’Haussonville, the French Ambassador to Monaco, renewed an initiative for young people in the Mediterranean region. The fourth call for proposals for J-MED will be launched on 25 October 2023 in Beirut (Lebanon).

Isabelle Berro-Amadeï visits cooperation projects in Tunisia

From 3 to 6 July 2023, a Monegasque delegation* led by Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, paid a visit to Tunisia to meet local partners and visit projects supported by Monaco’s Department of International Cooperation.

On 16th January 2023, the first edition of the J-MED Mediterranean meeting within the scope of the Call for Proposals -  Support youth in the Mediterranean – run by the European Institute for  Cooperation and Development and supported by the Government of Monaco, took place in Rabat, Morocco.

In the presence of H.S.H. Prince Albert II and to mark Mediterranean Day on 28 November, H.R.H. the Princess of Hanover formally opened a symposium on “Employment of Young People and Women in the Mediterranean Region”, at the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco.
