The Government of the Principality of Monaco (Department of International Cooperation) and its partner the Association François-Xavier Bagnoud FXB in Burundi are today launching the 1st edition of the call for projects INIBU - Support for Local Initiatives in Burundi.

Isabelle Berro-Amadeï in Burundi on a working visit

From 15 to 20 October 2024, a Monegasque delegation* led by Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, travelled to Burundi to meet local partners and beneficiaries of projects supported by Monaco’s Department of International Cooperation. They also held discussions with Burundian officials. A framework cooperation agreement was signed by the two countries before the visit.

Monaco and Burundi sign a framework cooperation agreement

On 5 October, Ms Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, and H.E. Mr Albert Shingiro, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation of the Republic of Burundi, signed a framework cooperation agreement during the 19th Summit of the Francophonie.

Trois ans après sa première rentrée scolaire, l’école secondaire de référence de Matana, qui accueille 269 élèves dont 32 enfants orphelins ou vulnérables, se positionne 3ème au concours national des écoles du Burundi.
